Jacqueline also runs regular events with Jeremy at The Surrey Wine School in Guildford. Jacqueline is passionate about the way good food brings people together with a feeling of connectivity through the 'breaking of bread.' Events with Surrey Wine School 2019

Steak & Wine Cookery and Wine Matching Evening Fri 1st February & Friday 15th March

Join us on a fabulous evening learning about the art of preparing great steak dishes. You will see how to select your steak, what makes a good steak, and how to cook your steak. Jacqueline will be showing three different cuts of steak, and what makes each one special. In addition, learn how to make a delicious sauce to accompany each steak, along with lots of other professional tips.

 

- Veal escalope with salsa verde

- Flat Iron style steak (bavette) with roquefort sauce

- Fillet steak with red wine reduction 

 

Accompanying Jacqueline's demonstration will be 6 delicious wines to compliment your food, all especially chosen by Surrey Wine School host, Jeremy, who we are delighted to be working in partnership with!

Learn how to match different wines for yourself as we talk about the role of tannin, fruit and aroma in helping you choose your perfect wine for your own steak dishes. We will be pairing a range of red wines from all over the World.

By the end of this course you will feel able to prepare these delicious meals yourself at home and impress your friends with your ability to match food and wine.

Lamb & Rioja Cookery and Wine Matching Friday 22nd March

A show-stopping evening at Surrey Wine School featuring the talents of Jacqueline Wise as she prepares three delicious lamb dishes LIVE in class- learn how simple and easy it can be to prepare and cook lamb with three different tasty sauces and learn the tricks of the restaurant kitchens from a professional chef.

 

On the evening you will try 3 taster size samples different recipes of lamb as shown below with different sauces prepared in front of you by Jacqueline .

 

• Seared and roasted rump of lamb with rioja & rosemary reduction 
• Lamb kofta kebabs with homemade tzatziki 
• Slow-cooked lamb shank with chorizo, tomato & butter beans

 

To match the beautiful food which will be tasted in class, your Wine School host Jeremy will be selecting a line-up of 6 stellar wines from Rioja including white and rose and red crianza, reserva and the pinnacle gran reserva. Discover more about the uniquely food friendly wines of this gastronomic country and pick up tips on how you can choose wines to match your own cooking at home. Jeremy will lead a short session on the theories behind food and wine matching before putting your new found skills into practice with the tasty food!

Spanish Tapas & Wine Matching Friday 26th April 

Our brand new Cookery evening is a must for lovers of great food and wine. This new evening will showcase some tasty Spanish Tapas made in front of you by professional Chef Jacqueline Wise.

Join us on a fabulous evening learning about the art of preparing great tapas dishes. You will see how to select your ingredients, what makes a great tapas dish ,and how to prepare your tapas. Jacqueline will be demonstrating how to prepare these stunning dishes, and what makes each one special.

 

- Gambas al Ajillo (Garlic prawns with butter, spring onion & olive oil)

- Chorizo y garbanzoz en vino tinto (Sauteed chorizo and chickpeas with red wine, garlic, honey & herbs)

- Croquetas de pimiento rojo y queso de cabra (Roasted red pepper & goat's cheese croquettes)

Outdoor Feasting Experience From £45pp

Perfect for a boho hen do or outdoors loving crowd, your chef will show you how to cook over an open fire. From rosemary flatbreads to wild garlic marinated lamb kebabs and chocolate and cardamom infused bananas, you will come away with life long skills and a satified stomach!
